The Best Dupes for Kylie Jenner’s Liquid Lipstick in Candy K
How many of you ladies haven’t been able to get your hands on a Kylie Jenner Liquid Lipstick??
Well tbh, I havent yet, but…I can tell you this much. I went scavenger hunting in my sister-in-laws makeup vanity, and Viola!!! Something I have been dying to try since FOREVER!!
It was the Kylie Jenner Liquid Lipstick in “Candy K”. So I tried a sample of it and it was to die for!!. I loved it. I needed to have it and yet haven’t had my hands on one because of course, I’ve been too lazy to go shopping online for the last few months due to EXTRA stuff a regular mommy would normally do. Clean, wash, take care of my son, Homework, all that good stuff.
Well I decided to do some homework on some reviews on line, of course on Influenster ( Again, it’s not too late to join: http://www.influenster.com/r/2902211). I have found some dupes for Kylie Cosmetic’s Candy K Liquid Lipstick. So I put a list together and thought that I would share what I have found.
#1. ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Screenshot
Where do I begin with these? Colorpop liquid lipsticks are a godsend. They’re pigmented, long-lasting, and come in such gorgeous shades. They also happen to be a third of the price of any similar product in the market. Being a huge fan of makeup, and also of finding inexpensive versions of my favorite high end makeup, I’m constantly on the lookout for a liquid to matte finish lipstick with the durability of Kylie’s or ABH’s liquid lipsticks. This is the only one that comes close. Its formula is actually less drying than ABH liquid lipsticks. Definitely will be getting all the shades in these. Colorpop has become one of my favorite makeup brands for having great quality products for a fraction of the price.
#2. Milani Amor Matte Lip Creme in Adorable
Today I got my very first Amore matte lip creams and safe to say…I’m OBSESSED! I have liquid lipsticks from Kylie, NYX, Colourpop, ABH…so I know my LL’s. These is SO comparable to the coveted (and expensive!) Kylie lip kit ones. The vanilla smell is IDENTICAL. The formula and finish is near the same, and the color Covet is a dead ringer for True Brown while Stunner is a perfect dupe for Dolce (the color of dolce in the tube) which is great for ppl who find Dolce dries down too dark on them. I love these so much I want the whole collection. AMORE LIP VAULT PLEASE!
#3. Too Faced Melted Matte in Cool Girl
I was really excited for this launch and was not disappointed. Cool Girl is a really lovely cool toned (obviously) nude that is a great dupe for Kat Von D Bow n Arrow or Jeffree Star’s Celebrity Skin. Packaging is really sleek and the formula is amazing. It is long wearing, comfortable, and not too drying, as far as liquid lipsticks are concerned. It does not dry down completely so it’s not transfer proof, but that’s why it’s comfortable. It doesn’t have a sweet smell that Too Faced is known for, but rather a typical raw ingredients smell. Not unpleasant and goes away when applied. Overall one of my favorite liquid lipsticks.
#4. Mabelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick in Nude Thrill
Every makeup brand is releasing their version of a matte lip product, and Maybelline finally joined in. I’ve heard some mixed reviews, so I’m going to break down my opinion on the product. First of all I want to say that I have this in the shades Nude Flash and Nude Thrill.
I personally really love these matte lippies! When you first apply them, they’re NOT matte. But once they have set on your lips for a few seconds they do dry matte. I recommend not using too much product when you first apply the color to your lips. I feel like the applicator is really generous with the product and gives too much product. Wipe the applicator off on the container and then apply. If you feel like the first application wasn’t too pigmented, then once that has dried you can apply another application, just make sure to wipe off the applicator so you don’t get too much product.
As for staying power, I really feel like this lippie stays on my lips all day. I can eat and drink and still have product on my lips by the end of the day.
These lippies are more creamy than your average matte lipstick, and I really like that about them! They dry but they don’t dry so much that they’re caked into your lips. I’m sure you guys know what I’m talking about – when you’re wearing a matte lipstick and you feel like you can’t talk because you’re lipstick is so dry. Yeah, I don’t have that problem with these lippies.
I recommend this for everyone to try. I think if you make sure to wipe off the applicator so you don’t get too much product, it really makes a difference when applying the lipstick.
#5. Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Celebrity Skin
I’ve tried several other brands of liquid lipsticks and I was initially skeptical about the Jeffree Star Cosmetic formula as I didn’t really understand the lip drying concept from using a matte liquid lipstick. I have tried liquid lip sticks from Anastasia Beverly Hills, Kylie Lipkit, Too Faced and Kat Von D. After reading, hearing, and watching countless reviews and trying on the liquid lipsticks myself, I was finally able to conclude which formula I liked best to my preference.
Can you guess? It’s Jeffree Star! From my own experience, Jeffree Star was the longest lasting formula and did not leave my lips entirely too dry. The visibility of fine-lines on my lips were little compared to Kylie cosmetics and Too Faced. The JSC lipstick is very pigmented and does not require a second dip into the container as the doe foot applicator is very absorbent to carry enough product all at once!
However, JSC does not dry down completely so there is a bit of stickyness on my lips!
#6. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow & Arrow
I am often very hesitant and picky when it comes to liquid lipsticks. They have to be able to last all day, be smudge proof yet still not unbearably drying to the lips. I have tried everything from Colourpop to Kyle Cosmetics to Jeffree Star, and I have to say Kat Von D’s liquid lipsticks is the best I’ve ever tried.
The thing that I like about these is the fact that I only need to apply once every 5-6 hours. Lip liner isn’t necessary either, but that’s just a personal preference. There is also such a huge color selection that no matter your skin tone or color choice, there’s a color for you!
